Parent Teacher Organization

The initial and organizational meeting for our new PTO will be at 6PM this Wednesday, January 31 at the school.  We want to increase and open a channel of communication with our parents and community.  We are also in need of several parent volunteers to assist throughout the day and throughout the school before, during, and after school.  Please plan to attend.  We look forward to working with you to make Buckeye Prep the best primary school in the city of Columbus.

School Uniform Policy

School uniforms promote academic achievement and decrease student behavior problems.  Please remember that our school uniform is a maroon or white polo shirt, khaki colored pants/skirt/shorts (not leggings), a belt, and black colored shoes.  Students not in uniform will be required to sign the Accountability Book in the office and may be subject to Saturday School.  Students not in dress code will be required to change into uniforms provided by the school.  We recently received a grant for the purchase of a washer and dryer and will have the ability to wash some student

Winter Weather

Please be sure that your student has a warm coat, hat, and gloves for recess.  We will have recess outside as long as the wind chill factor is above 20 degrees and the blacktop surface is safe for students to play on.

Dear Buckeye Preparatory Parents and Community Members: Dec 2017

We have finished the first round of MAP testing of all of our students in reading and math. Our teacher-based teams and building leadership team use these scores to target interventions for our students during Success Hour. Our 3rd graders also participated in the State Reading assessment. We expect results soon and will utilize this data by our TBTs and BLT to also target interventions for our students.

As the holidays approach we will be focused on preparing for the state tests that will begin soon after we return from Winter break. However, we do want to have some fun during the holidays so we will be hosting a few events for students and parents to participate. First, we will be hosting an opportunity for students to get their picture with Santa on Saturday, December 16th from 10 AM - 12 PM. We encourage you to invite your neighbors, friends, and family members to check out our school. On December 21st, the students will be taking on the faculty in a basketball game. And, on December 22nd, we invite everyone to attend our Holiday Assembly and early dismissal. K-3 students will present their show from 9 AM - 10 AM and 4-7 students will present from 10 AM - 11 AM. Once each show is over, parents are to take their children home for the Winter break. Buses and student pick up will begin at 11 AM and should be completed by 11:30 AM. Winter break will run from Saturday, December 23 through Sunday, January 7, 2018. Students will return to school on Monday, January 8th.

The faculty and staff of Buckeye Prep wish all of you Happy Holidays and a very Happy New Year!
