Dear Parents and Buckeye Community:
We have started the new year energized and revitalized! Our focus is the mission of educating our scholars, and as a staff, we are committed to ensuring we achieve the goal at all costs. We at Buckeye Preparatory Academy, understand that Failure is not an Option. Buckeye's Building Leadership Team met over the summer to discuss the implementation of several changes in support of our academic program. We allow our scholars to enter the building at 8:10 a.m. instead of 8:30 a.m., so that they are in class at 8:30 a.m. This allows additional time for intervention. We have added a Bobcat Success Hour where our scholars are taking personal inventory assessments and receiving instruction in career education planning.
We have added additional staff; a literacy and academic coach and also an Asst. Director. We have several returning staff in grades kindergarten, third, fourth and fifth to continue building upon the foundation we established at the start of last year; and we have interviewed and hired the best staff to fit the needs of our current program. Our intermediate teachers are planning a 7th grade trip to Washington, DC during spring break and we are all excited and fund raising to ensure we have the money!
Buckeye Preparatory Academy is on the move and in my second year as their Director, I am excited to be a part! I am encouraged as we move upward. Our education system is flawed and there are many challenges, but when we pull together and strive for Excellence, there is not anything that is too hard to accomplish! Join me as we work together in achieving the goal of Academic Excellence of all of our Buckeye Scholars!
