The month of September brings a focus on testing with the district test of NWEA. The NWEA MAP test is given three times per year, fall, winter and spring. The results of the NWEA MAP allow us to analyze and identify student needs and student strengths. We have completed the first round of testing and are meeting weekly as a Building Leadership Team (BLT) and during Teacher Based Teams (TBT) to discuss instructional strategies. The Buckeye "Bobcat Success Hour" is a time of implementation of the identified instructional interventions to ensure academic success. The Buckeye staff is working to ensure our students show a minimum of one years growth in both reading and math.
I am currently working with community partners of the Rickenbacker Woods Foundation, Gertrude Woods Foundation and The Livingston Area Commission in support of securing additional tutoring support for our Buckeye students. We are excited for this partnership and look to move forward in programming the second week in October.
I want to take this opportunity to say Thank You to the Buckeye Preparatory Staff and Community for allowing me to have this opportunity to be of service to you.
